The Perfect Alkaline Drink: Juices To Alkalize

Juices are a great way to alkalize in the morning and with the right ingredients it’s the perfect alkaline drink.

Remember that drinking juices can mean you take in a lot of calories with less fibre. Just think about whether you could have eaten all the fruit and vegetables that are in your fresh juice just by themselves? It probably would have made you much fuller than you were after your juice.

However, juices are a great way to detox, especially if you’re looking to get a lot of fresh vitamins and minerals and at the same time giving your digestive system a chance to rest and clean out.

So, when preparing your alkaline drink juice, remember the following:

  • your main ingredients should be alkaline (check an alkaline food chart)
  • if you’re counting calories, use your juice to replace a meal (such as breakfast) or a snack
  • if you’re concerned about consuming fruit and vegetables in the same meal, then these alkaline drink recipes may not be for you

Alkaline Drink Pink Power Juice

1/2 beetroot
2 ruby pink grapefruits
3 stalks of celery

Juice all ingredients together and add ice to your juice if you prefer it cold. The sweetness of the beetroot and the sour grapefruit make a refreshing contrast and the colour of the juice is just divine!

1 apple
3 carrots
4 stalks of celery

Juice all ingredients and enjoy! With the carrot and apple this is quite a sweet juice. You could also have it in the afternoon to satisfy your sweet tooth!
